Photoshopped photos

I used the quick selection tool to highlight the word "water" on the extinguisher. I changed it to a dark blue colour and then put on the effect "darker colour" which made the speckled colour on the word. I then went onto curves and changed the filter of the whole picture to one that is darker. This created the photo, I like how it looks like something out of a horror movie.

I used the quick selection tool to highlight the shoelaces, I changed these to a pink colour and put on a "difference" effect and turned down the opacity. I then used the tool to highlight the jeans and change them to a pink colour. I changed the effect on this to "hue" then turned down the opacity. I then then went onto curves and changed it so that the picture looked like that.

Movement photo task

We had to take 6 photos of movement. Whilst I was in Edinburgh with my friend, I decided to take some pictures.

I took a picture of the chairs on the bus as we were on our way to Edinburgh. I made the focus the chairs in the distance rather than the ones in front of me, i liked the way that the blurred chairs at the front could still be seen:

I took a picture of a man playing guitar on the street, i liked that the street seemed to trail off into the distance:

I took a picture of the people walking up the street, i like that they are all mid movement and that the buildings are tall and seem to surround everyone:

I took a picture looking up the street, i liked that all the buildings seem to go in a straight line and lead off into the distance, i also like the way that the people seem so small compared to the size of the buildings:

On the bus home i took a picture of the cars and the tram lines, i like that the buildings are in such a straight line and that the woman is running across the road. I don't like that the reflection from the bus can be seen in the picture and that some of it is blurred:

I took a picture of the bus on the other side of the road, i liked that the bus is slightly blurred from moving, i don't like that the reflection from thre window can be seen:

12 hour photo task

We had to take a photo every hour for 12 hours. I took my photos on a Saturday.

11:00 - I took a picture of my hair dryer as at this time I had come out of the shower and was getting ready for the day. I liked the way that the black was contrasting to the carpet of the room:

12:00 - After taking my time showering and drying my hair, i got dresses and did my make up and then curled my hair. I took a picture of my hairspray and foundation. I tried to get one of the bottles in focus more than the other. I also liked the way the shadows were on the floor of my room:

13:00 - I had to put away all of my ironing back into my wardrobe, I liked the way that all of the different colours of clothes could be seen in the picture and how they were contrasting colours:

14:00 - I sat down and watched friday's episode of Celebrity Big Brother. I liked that the screen could be  easily seen and the difference of colours between the black and the red of the joggers:

15:00 - I decided to read the book my sister got me for my birthday. I tried to get the bottom of the book more in focus than the top:

16:00 - I sat at my desk and watched some Netflix, I took a picture of my light and lava lamp that were on. I liked the way that the rest of the picture was in the dark but the light was bright:

17:00 -  I took my dog out for a walk, we had to walk past a horse field. This is my favourite picture as i like how close i was to the horse and how in focus its face was:

18:00 - I was still out on my long dog walk, i liked the way that the light from the lamp post went in a line all the way down the street light:

19:00 - I decided to look over my lines in the script of the play I am taking part in. I liked the way that the light and shadows looked in the curves of the script:

20:00 - I decided to play civ the computer game, I liked the way that the light from the computer showed the keys of the keyboard and that the screen was in focus:

21:00 - I played with my dog for a while, I liked that I caught him in a blink and tat i managed to get his face in focus that close:

22:00 - I went out to meet my friend for a little while, i liked the way that the building looking and how it seemed to merge with the darkness:

Snow photos

I took some photos in the snow weather and so I decided to upload them.

Decaying photos task

We had to take photos of decaying things.

I took a photo of a mouldy orange that we were about to throw out. The lighting in the kitchen was bad s i used the torch on my phone to create a light coming from the side. I liked that the reflection of the orange showed in the counter:

I took a photo of the flower petals that had fallen. I sat the camera on top of the piano so i wouldn't shake and made the fallen petals in focus:

I took a picture of the same petals but this time I changed the shutter speed so that it was longer. This made more light go into the camera meaning there was more light showing in the picture of the petals:

Film Cameras (Single-lens reflex camera)

Film cameras are cameras that have a role of film inside of them that are used to take the photos. They come in a variety of sizes and types although the most common is the 35mm single-lens reflex camera (SLR). It is popular as it is inexpensive and is of a good quality.

This type of camera uses mirrors so that what the photographer sees through the viewfinder is what the lens sees. this means that the photographer is seeing exactly what the photo would be like. When the photograph is taken the mirrors then flip up so that the film is then exposed to the light entering the lens. This takes the photograph.

The shutter is always closed until the shutter release button us pressed, this means that the film is kept light-tight and so is not damaged. The SLR can also use changeable camera lenses so that photos can be taken at various distances, zooms and angles. It is one of the few camera that have complete interchangeable lenses.

Once the film is complete, it must be processed. This takes place in a dark room and must have the correct solutions and conditions for it to work properly. The photographs can only be seen once the whole film has been exposed and processed.

I think this would be bad as it would be hard to know if you've taken a good picture or not as you cannot see the photographs. It could also be hard to get the mix of things in the dark room completely correct for the photographs to be processed right. However, it would be a good camera for beginners as they would have a range of lenses that do different things that they could try out.

12 days of christmas task

We had to take pictures of the 12 days of Christmas for out homework task. We could interpret it in any way that we wanted.

For " A partridge in a pear tree " , I took a picture of a pear. I put the torch on my phone and held it up so there was a shadow created by the pear to make the image more interesting:

For "two turtle doves" I took a picture of my sisters 2 toy turtles and a dove product that I had. I used the torch on my phone to create light and shadows within the image:

For " three French hens " I took a picture of 3 eggs that I had with a moustache that seemed like a stereotypical French guy moustache. I used the torch on my phone to create a cool shadow of the eggs and moustache:

For " four calling birds " I took a picture of my phone getting a call from 'ma bird'. To take this, it took a while as the phone kept ringing out and it was difficult to get the phone and writing not blurry:

For "five gold rings" I took a picture of a gold ring of tape on my hand in the shape of a number 5. I took it against my mirror so that my Christmas hat and decorations can be seen:

For "six geese a laying" I took my duck cuddly toy (as I didn't have a goose toy) and put it in between the doors of the mirrors in my mum's bedroom. I made it so there was 6 geese as the song says:

For "seven swans a swimming" I made an origami swan and put it in between the doors of the mirrors in my mum's bedroom. I made it so there was 7 swans, I likes the shadows around the edges:

For "eight maids a milking" I took a picture of a toy cow in between the mirrors, I made sure that there were 8 in the picture, it was difficult to take the picture as the doors had to be held whilst I tried to take the picture:

For "nine ladies dancing" I took a picture of my toy ballerina, I didn't take a picture of 9 reflections because I didn't realise it was the wrong number until I uploaded it to my computer. This one isn't my favourite picture because I think that the ballerina could have been more visible:

For "ten lord's a leaping" I took a picture of a gold Christmas crown. I made sure that there were 10 crows visible in the reflections. I tried to make the focus on the first crown:

For "eleven pipers piping" I took a picture of the wooden tube in the wrapping paper, this is because it was the closest thing to a pipe that I could find in my house. I took the picture from above to make sure that all 11 could be seen. I liked that the reflections could be seen by the mirrors:

For "twelve drummers drumming" I took a picture of a drum my sister had. This was the hardest picture to take as it was the hardest angle to hold the mirror doors at. I liked the shadows made from the door in each of the reflections:
