Bob Martin is a sports photographer. He specialises in taking action, graphic and editorial pictures for many different people. He has won many awards during his 30 years of photography such as being a three time winner of the British Sports Photographer of the year and the World Press Photo Sports picture. He lives in England is the only Sports Illustrated photographer that is based outside of the USA. His photographs have been placed in many different magazines such as Sports Illustrated, Time, Life Magazine, The Sunday Times and The New York Times. He has taken pictures at many sporting events such as the Olympics and Horse racing on ice.
I like this photo because the athlete is a silhouette in the sky. I like the way that the picture is in lots of darkness aside from the two spots of light. I like that Bob Martin has managed to capture this image at the perfect time to make the silhouette stand out:
I like this photo because it's in the middle of action and you can see the facial expression that the man has as all the mud comes flying towards him. I like how Bob Martin managed to capture the image at the perfect moment to get the mud flying and the mans expression:
I like this photo because it shows the precision of ballet and how precise the girl is being. I like that it is in black and white as it adds effect to the girl, it makes her seem more in the spotlight as she is the brightest area in the photo. I also like the shadows on the floor and on her body from the angle that she is standing at:
I like this photo because the photo is just focusing on the hands coming out of the pool. I like that the bottom of the photograph is darker and less in focus which brings more attention and focus to the lighter area of the photograph where the hands are.
