5 Final Photos

The theme of my 5 final photographs was people. This is because during the course I have liked taking photos of people the most. I chose to do my 5 more as a photo-shoot type of photography rather than taking pictures of people naturally.

I liked this photo because Rye is looking directly at the camera. Using Photoshop I changed his eye colour to a bluish-purple. I then made the rest of the picture in black and white aside from the colourful eyes. I like the way that the eyes stand out:

I like this photo of Rye because he is mid-laughing and I caught him off guard as we were taking the photos. I didn't use Photoshop in this photo because I liked how natural everything looked:

I like this photo of Rye because he is staring away from the camera. I like that most of the dark colours are on the left of the picture and the lighter colours are on the right making a split down the middle. I used Photoshop in this picture but only slightly, I changed the level of the curves to make the colours bolder and the picture less light:

I like this photo because it is a different angle of looking at the bottom of someone's shoes. I like that the shoes are in focus and the legs look long which adds depth to the photo. I used Photoshop in this photo because there was a lot of white in the picture. I used the curves adjustment to change the colours to make the picture more colourful:

I liked this picture of Rye because he stands out from the white background. I like that the darker colours of clothing contrast to the white wall and background. I also like that Rye is looking away from the camera and yet the focus is still on him because of the way his arms are:

Day out in Edinburgh

We took a trip as a class to Edinburgh where we took lots of photos.

I liked this photo because it was through the 2 seats in from of me, I also liked that the 2 people in the photograph are looking at the side at the same thing:

I liked this photo because outside looks bright and snowy contrasting to the seats and people inside which are quite dark:

I liked this photo because the stairs extend down through most of the picture, I like that the stairs separate the floor and the ceiling. I also like that there is movement of people within the photo:

I liked that the pole was still in the image but the focus was on the people walking around. I like the depth of field within this photo:

I like the lower angle of the train in this photo, I like that the train can be seen through the poles creating a depth of field within the photo:

I liked this photo because the focus is on the woman but you cant see her face, I also like how the escalators trail off into the distance:

I like this photo because all of the people are in the distance and the poles in the middle trail off into the very back of the photo, i also like the symmetry between the two sides of the photo:

I like this photo because it is from a lower angle looking upwards through the street. I also like the contrast between each of the sides of the photo as one side is lighter and the other darker:

I like this photo as it is taken when the people in the photo weren't looking and so they are acting naturally. I also like how it is looking down from a higher place than where the people are:

I like this photo because it is of a low angle looking upwards at the bottom of the stairs, I also like that from the bottom it is darker which then contrasts to the lightness at the top:

I like this photo because I like the way that the building curves within the picture:

I like this photo because it shows a rail of clothes at a different angle, I also like the way that the metal curves through the whole picture:

I like the way that the whole building curves within this photo, I also like that the sky is white in the photo which makes the building stand out more:

I like that in this picture the row of buildings trail off into the distance, I also like that they stand out next to the grey sky:

I like this picture of Murron as it was taken when she wasn't looking and so is of her as she normally is, I like that she is in focus and that the door is in the background with the same sort of colours that she is wearing:

I like this photo because the pulpit lines up with the bottom of the stained glass window, I like the symmetry within the photo and that the focus is on the pulpit but yet you can still see the window:

I like this photo because the stained glass window is in focus through the metal rather than the metal being in focus, I like the depth of field within the photo:

I like that everything else in the picture is dark aside from the window, I like the contrast between the window and the background:

I like the way the light from the candles is in focus in this picture, I also like that you can see the candles on all levels of the shelves:

I like that you can see all the way up the street in this photo, I also like that all the people can be seen moving within the photo, I don't like the pole within the photo because I think that it looks out of place:

I like that in this photo you can see all of Edinburgh, I also like that the hills in the background can be seen with snow on top of them, I like that the white from the snow seems to merge into the white of the sky:

I like that in this photo the castle and the cliff are almost black, I like the contrast between this and the grey of the sky:

I like this photo of Leah as it was taken when she didn't realise it, I like the way that she's looking off into the distance and unaware of the photo being taken, I also like the way her hair looks in the photo, however I don't like that you can see part of someone else's head in the photo:

I like this photo of Murron as it is zoomed in closer than a picture of someone normally would be, I also like that she is posing for a photo in another direction so that the photo I took was from a different angle:

I like this photo of Leah as she is not paying attention to the camera, I like that she is clearly looking at something else and that she contrasts with the background as she is in dark clothing and has dark hair and the background is much lighter:

I like this photo of Patrick and Ross as they are alone in this street and stick out, I like that they are the only people around and that they contrast with the surrounding area:

I like this photo as there are many different colours in the picture, I also like that the staircase makes the building look like it is curving:

I like this photo because the pavement goes all the way through the photo and trails off into the distance, I like that even though there is movement in the photo it is not blurred and the people and bags are in focus. I also like that there is different shades of green throughout the photo:

I like that this photo shows a big distance across Edinburgh, I like that there is different shades of green and brown through the photo and how they contrast with the white and grey sky:

I like this photo of Murron as she is looking past the camera into the distance, I also like that the photo is focused on Murron's head and that it is only the top part of her body that is in the photo:

Photoshopped photos

I changed this picture I took of Katie by doubling her and changing the background colour and then using curves to make the different colours, I couldn't decide which background colour looked better:

I changed this photo of Brooke so that she had green hair and matching green eyes:

Holiday photo task

We had to take some photos of our time during the holidays.

I took this picture of the castle in Inverness on my phone. I liked the tree in the picture and the shadow on the ground:

I took this photo of the Inverness castle on my phone, i liked that in the picture you can see the sky, castle and river in horizontal lines across the picture:

I took a picture of the Edinburgh castle whilst i was shopping, i liked the contrast between the sky and the castle and the moving people within the picture:

I took this picture when i was on the train from Edinburgh, i liked that the tracks and wires go across the picture:

I took a picture of the bridge whilst i was on a dog walk. I liked the angle that i took it at and the shadows on the bridge:

I took a picture of a tree on a dog walk, i tried to make the focus point of the picture the tree rather than the background:

Photoshopped photo

 This was the original photo:

I took a photo that I had of a basketball and inserted the ball into the picture. I put the ball in place of Sam's head. I then went online and got a photo of hair. I took it out of its white background and put it into the photo to look like the ball was a head. I then got a photo of eyes and put it into the image. I then got a picture of lips which I had to re size before placing it onto the basket ball head. I then merged the layers and went onto hue and saturation where I turned the saturation down. I then went onto curves to change the colours of the image:

Mundane photo task

We had to take photos of the mundane but make them look interesting.

I took a photo of a book that was on my chair. I tried to make the book in focus and the chair and blanket in the background not:

I took a picture of the bottom of my bed. I liked the shape that it made against the bed covers and how the colour stands out:

I took a picture of the lamp on my desk. I liked that the light was not in focus and instead the feather was:

I took a photo of my feet on the bed. I liked that the background was all the covers and that my socks stood out from it:

I took a picture of my lamp. I liked that the entire background was darker and that the lamp was white. I don't like that you can see the glass in the picture:

I took a picture of the fairy lights on my bed. I liked that the lights weren't in focus:
